Jacquel Tucker wanted to build a strong company with seasoned hotel professionals who would use their skills and expertise to deliver impactful support and strong results in the hospitality industry. She recognized the need for consultation services focused on driving business results, the need to minimize the negative impact of open sales positions by filling them with experienced task force sales leaders and the need for continuous sales & customer service training in the hospitality industry.
Hospitality has always been in Jacquel’s blood. She was born in Jamaica in the rural community of Higgins Land. After she graduated from Westwood High School in Jamaica she attended Brown’s Town Community College for a year and was then awarded a full academic C.A.S.S scholarship to the University of Maine in Orono ME. She studied Hotel & Restaurant Management & Tourism and this opportunity changed the course of her life.
Jacquel’s experience in the hospitality industry spans over 25 years. She has worked for Tourism Action Plan/The Jamaica Tourist Board in Jamaica and worked her way up in the hotel industry in the USA. Her career started at the front desk, reservations and sales coordinator and she has been a sales leader in a Director of Sales & Marketing role for over 15 years. She has worked in major cities such as Newark, New York & Buckhead Atlanta and worked for major brands such as Hilton, Starwood & Wyndham.
In 2015 Jacquel started her non-profit The Jamaica Project USA with a mission to transform rural communities and schools in Jamaica. She wanted to bring this culture of giving back to GHES. The company is focused on giving back to students in her home country Jamaica and also in the USA by providing them with educational resources, facilitating more contact with our hotel leaders and increasing internship opportunities.
